Small-scale mining in Ghana should be banned, according to Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin.

The overlord of Akyem Abuakwa has ordered a one-year moratorium on all small-scale mining.

According to the Okyenhene, the one-year halt will allow the country to develop stronger mining policies.

In recent years, small-scale miners have turned to illicit methods in their mining operations.

These little fear miners have ruined some big water bodies.
