Ghanaians have reacted angrily to Afia Schwarzenegger after she incorrectly compared the price of gasoline in Ghana to that of the United States.

Ghanaians have been protesting the rising price of petrol and its effect on living conditions under the hashtag #FixTheCountry for the past few weeks.

Her Instagram post was met with venomous criticism, with many accusing her of being stupid.

The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers – Ghana (COPEC) announced that the price of gasoline would be raised on Sunday, May 16, 2021, according to Arenagh.com.

In a signed statement, the chamber’s Executive Secretary, Duncan Amoah, said the move was inevitable due to rising petroleum prices on the international market.

As a result of this growth, Afia commented on the petrol prices, comparing them to those in the United States.
