Devonta Smith, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, was born on November 14, 1998. He played collegiate football for Alabama in 2020 as a senior, racking up over 1,800 yards and 23 touchdowns.
In his native Amite City, Louisiana, Smith attended Amite High Magnet School. He played both football and basketball. He made the decision to play collegiate football for the University of Alabama.
Smith received the Heisman Trophy for his achievements in addition to numerous other medals and prizes. He was only the fourth wide receiver overall to win the Heisman since Desmond Howard did so in 1991.
He also won two national championships while representing Alabama. The Philadelphia Eagles selected Smith with the tenth overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft after moving up two spots to do so. He signed a four-year, $20.1 million rookie agreement on June 3, 2021.
